In honor of the Doggfather's return Thursday to the House of Blues, we dug up some bones and tapped a cross section of experts from the music and entertainment industry to help us fill out the alphabet, Snoop-style.

So, check it out - here is Kicks! obsessive-compulsive look at Snoop Dogg from A to Z:

A | is for "articulate," said former House of Blues marketing director Melissa McGrath, who dealt face-to-face with the hip-hop superstar behind the scenes at the North Myrtle Beach concert hall. "He is extremely well-spoken, thoughtful and up on current events."

B | is for Broadus. Who? That's Snoop's given last name. He was born Calvin Broadus and was nicknamed Snoop by his mother.

C | is for "The Chronic," the 1992 smash Dr. Dre album that introduced Snoop, then known as Snoop Doggy Dogg, and his laid-back rhyming style to a mass audience.

D | is for disaster, according to concert promoter Larry Mandell, who said he promoted Snoop's first U.S. tour. Mandell said the tour was a losing proposition from the get-go and was soon canceled after Snoop was involved in a shooting incident.

E | is for English snobbery. During Snoop's 1994 tour of England, government officials tried to kick the rapper out of the country because of his arrest in connection with a fatal drive-by shooting in the United States.

F | is for Fran Drescher (or fakin' the funk). "A sure sign that Snoop's language had gone too far came when Fran Drescher uttered the phrase 'my shizzle's gone fazizzle' in an Old Navy Christmas ad last year," said Bram Teitelman, Managing Editor of Rock for Airplay Monitor magazine.

G | is for Warren G., Snoop's high-school buddy (and stepbrother of Dr. Dre) who introduced him to the influential studio genius and then-member of rap supergroup N.W.A. The rest is "Nuthin' but a 'G.' Thang."

H | is for Huggy Bear, the affable pimp/police informer updated by Snoop Dogg in the recent big-screen remake of '70s cop show "Starsky and Hutch."

I | is for innocent until proven guilty. On March 18, 1996, prosecutors dropped manslaughter charges against Snoop, roughly a month after he was acquitted of murder charges when the trial resulted in a deadlocked jury.

J | is for "Just Shoot Me," the David Spade sitcom on which Snoop played himself in the September 2001 episode titled "Finch in the Dogg House." Spade's character Finch got a short-lived job as Snoop's personal assistant.

K | is for Keith Sweat. Snoop appears on the R&B crooner's single "Come and Get It With Me," which peaked at No. 12 on U.S. charts in October 1998.

L | is for linguist. Snoop is quite the wordsmith, having invented his own language, a sort of hip-hop pig Latin. (See the letter F if you need an explanation).

And we can't forget Long Beach, Calif., where Calvin Broadus was born Oct. 20, 1972.

M | is for Myrtle Beach municipal meetings. In a 2002 discussion about whether renaming 10th Avenue North would wreak havoc, Myrtle Beach City Councilman Michael Chestnut said: "You could call the street Snoop Doggy Dogg Street or whatever, but that's not going to solve the confusion."

N | is No Limit, Master P's record label, which Snoop signed a deal with after leaving Suge Knight's Death Row Records in 1997.

O | is for the Offspring's "Original Prankster," which was supposed to have a cameo by Snoop but wound up featuring fellow rapper Redman instead.

P | is for pimpin'. Snoop provided the voice of Oklahoma City pimp Alabaster Jones in a 2001 episode of FOX animated show "King of the Hill" titled "Ho, Yeah!"

Q | is for quadruple platinum. Snoop's solo debut album, "Doggystyle," went quadruple platinum (reaching sales of 4 million units) on May 31, 1994.

R | is for Ronnie Rizzat, the sagelike rodent character voiced by Snoop in Jamie Kennedy's wanna-be-gangsta-rapper comedy flick "Malibu's Most Wanted."

S | "is for 'Soul Plane,' one of the movies of the summer of 2004, starring Snoop Dogg as a self-made pilot straight out the pen." - April Garner, marketing director for Tre-Day Entertainment in Myrtle Beach.

T | "is for toking ... enough said," said noted bass guitarist Steve Bailey, a Myrtle Beach resident and artist-in-residence at Coastal Carolina University.

U | is for "Raw and Uncut, Vol. 1," a DVD chronicling Snoop's 31st birthday party, and a celebration of many of his hits.

V | is for "A Very Special Christmas 3," highlighted by a version of "Santa Baby," featuring Snoop Dogg, Reverend Run from Run D.M.C., Salt-N-Pepa and P. Diddy.

W | is for wet T-shirt contest. Last June, Snoop Dogg hosted a wet T-shirt contest at The Shark Club that featured totally nude participants, an incident that led to the Ocean Boulevard club being shut down by police.

X | is for for triple X. The adult entertainment flick "Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle" (which featured him as a narrator) captured two trophies at the 2002 Adult Video News Awards.

Y | is for New York. Snoop's cousin played defensive back for the NFL's New York Jets in 2003.

Z | is for forizzle.
