Snoop is back on MTV to host a variety talkshow in a deal that will also serve as a launch pad for Snoop's new album and video game tracks.
"Dogg After Dark" (7x60') will launch on February 17 at 21.00, with Snoop Dogg's celebrity interviews interspersed with comedy skits and musical performances from hot new artists, as well as from in-house band the Snoopadelics. (Sounds very similar to the old Doggy Fizzle Televizzle!)
The deal with MTV will also see the youth-skewing channel act as the launch pad for Snoop's upcoming album "Malice in Wonderland", with MTV handling global distribution, marketing and promotion. In addition, the agreement allows MTV Networks (MTVN) to license songs from Snoop Dogg's catalogue for its music video game platform, Rock Band. "From iconic VMA performances to DoggyFizzle Televizzle and everything imaginable in between, MTV has always been a home for Snoop's music and comedic expressions and will continue to be that through this exciting new partnership," said Amy Doyle, executive VP of music and talent for MTV. |
